The above is an excellent suggestion.

Also, in the research I've done, I have not heard of parsley being harmful to dogs, but by all means confirm this for yourself. But parsley is known to work in the stomach to help with bad breath. Besides, it adds a little flavor and color to what ever you're cooking.

Best of all it works for people too. : )

When it comes to bad doggie breath, you first want to look at what could be causing it. Are you regularly brushing your dogs teeth? Build up of tarter and plaque on your dog's teeth is the most likely cause. Some foods, such as canned food can also cause bad breath.

You'll want to make sure that you are regularly brushing your dog's teeth as this will help the most with bad breath.

As far as treats, you can give your dog some baby carrots to munch on -- full-sized carrots for a larger dog. Since they are harder and require more chewing, they will help clean your dog's teeth.

You can also encourage your dog to use a dental chew toy such as Nylabone's Dental Balls.

Thanks for those recipes.I would like to get suggestions on what kind of treats I can give to a dog with very bad breath. I don't really want to feed them any commercial pet food treats, so I would like to hear what you have tried that helps. Have you tried any treats (preferably home-made or veggies) that have helped your dogs breath to improve?
